In many plants spare parts leave the store without being written to a work order, appear as an inventory variance and end up in general overhead. Nobody then knows what a machine costs.
Closing a Tokuva maintenance order issues the parts, loads the labour time, posts the total to the maintenance expense account and adds it to the total cost of ownership on the asset record. A year later the question "replace this press or keep repairing it" has an answer in the system.
