Tokuva's payroll module calculates social security, income tax and stamp duty from approved timesheets, puts the result through a four-eyes approval, and posts the approved run to the journal. It produces payslip PDFs, a summary spreadsheet and a bank payment file.
Capabilities
Accounting mapping
Statutory mapping loaded from seed; posting is blocked rather than half-written when a mapping is missing.
Deduction engine
Employee and employer social security, unemployment, income tax bands and stamp duty.
Per-site settings
Deduction rules, meal and transport allowances and accident rates come from the workplace record.
Four-eyes approval
Calculator and approver must be different people.
Outputs
All payslips as one PDF, summary spreadsheet, bank transfer file, statutory declaration data.
Period close
A posted period closes; retroactive change requires a separate correction run.
Four eyes is a real gate
After payroll is calculated, the user who ran the calculation cannot press approve; the session identity is checked on the server. The posting button stays disabled until someone else has approved.
This removes the risk in setups where one person can both set the amount and release it. In small teams it feels like friction at first and proves its worth at the first audit.
